Versatility of Optima proves a hit with food producers

Since the launch of the Optima at ANUGA   – BCH have successfully supplied the machine to a number of food producers who have recognised the versatility of the all-in-one processing vessel.   Customers have found that the wide range of processing options as well as product types that can be produced at speed using only one vessel gives them huge capabilities.

We are often approached with customers individual requirements and challenges, and we have been able to adapt the original model to incorporate these and deliver a bespoke solution – another good reason to choose BCH.

BCH recently introduced a powder-vacuum loading solution for one of our UK clients. When combined with the Optima’s other high performance capabilities an overall reduction in processing times of nominally 75% were achieved.

The Optima is ideal for the manufacture of a countless variety of food products including confectionery, convenience foods and spreads – the list of current and future possibilities is as endless and diverse as our customers’ imagination.

More than simply a mixing vessel – The BCH Optima is a batch process machine which can be relied upon to perform an impressive range of process steps:

jacket heating • jacket cooling • pressure cooking • pressure discharge • vacuum cooking • vacuum chill • vacuum loading

steam infusion • concentrating • cutting • emulsifying • blending • dispersion • dissolving • evaporation

powder wetting • pasteurisation • auto-dosing • water metering • bowl tipping • liquid drain valve • pump discharge • recipe management

The Optima provides customers with the freedom to become independently creative with their own unique process and product.

Innovation Centre News

Another new investment for BCH was the installation of a larger Steam Boiler for the Innovation Centre, this provides us with the ability to test larger steam jacketed kettles with steam as well as carry out more trial work on high pressure/temperature applications such as our Bratt pans without the limitation the smaller boiler gave us.

The new boiler can generate 1000kgs/hr of steam, effectively a doubling of the original output.

HEFMA Aerobic Digester

Successful Launch of Aerobic Digester

We have just returned from a busy few days at the HEFMA 2019 Leadership Forum where we were assisting Aerobic Technologies in promoting the BCH designed and manufactured Aerobic Digester to a wide range of estate and facility professionals from the NHS.

The digester is capable of processing a wide range of foodstuffs including, fruit, vegetables and proteins by breaking down the food waste over a 24 hour period using only oxygen, heat, water and enzymes which are discharged down a normal main drainage system.

We specifically designed the range of 50 – 300kg capacity units to fit through a standard doorway for ease of installation into buildings such as restaurants, hotels, hospital and places of worship to name a few.

Following his return from the conference our representative George Smith stated that the exhibition held within the Forum was very successful and drew a wide range of enquiries across a number of the sectors who could identify investment in digestion technology.

We are looking forward to a successful launch of this exciting new Aerobic Digester machine.

Christmas Jumper Day!

Today is Christmas Jumper Day and we are wearing our Christmas Jumpers to work!

We have decided to support a local lad (Si Hall) who is running on average 10k every day in 2018 to raise money and awareness for the National Autistic Society.

His target is to raise £6,000 and he is currently at £4,725. So let’s get into the festive spirit, have fun and help him reach his target.

We have a collection box in reception for any passers-by wishing to donate, or you can also go to the Just Giving Page
Well Done Si, you are almost there!

BCH celebrate success

BCH Celebrate Success

The BCH team held a party last night to celebrate the success of the year, and to recognise the hard work and dedication of everyone in the Company.

The party was held at The Riverside in Whitworth, where we enjoyed celebratory drinks, delicious food and even a BCH Cake!

We were delighted that Previous owners Tony Coates and his wife Christine joined in the fun, they were instrumental maintaining the long history of BCH, running the Company for many years and building The Innovation And Manufacturing Centres.

We are lucky to have such a great team, with many of the workforce starting as apprentices, learning essential process, engineering and controls/automation skills. Subsequently becoming long-term valuable members of BCH.
